So how does Novlr actually work?
Novlr is a sophisticated digital writing tool that serves as a comprehensive platform for authors and writers. The main section of Novlr is, of course, the Novel. I’ve already gone over the basic set up instructions as well as how to adjust the settings in this post. Let’s go over how Novlr can be used to write your novel.
Once you choose add new novel, you’ll be directed to a page that looks like this. It won’t have all of this text. This is just the tutorial novel they’ve added to help you find your way through the program.
Use the settings options to choose the theme and other preferences you have. Then you can start writing your novel. I always choose focus mode so I can write in a distraction free zone.
Enter the title of your novel. Then choose whether you want titles for your chapters or not. If you’re not sure, just leave them as Chapter One, Two, Three, etc.. for now. You can always edit the names later.
Once you start writing, you’ll be prompted when something doesn’t look right. Or if Novlr has a suggestion for how to better format a sentence. I use Grammarly in most of my other word processors – even on InkWell Spills. But you can turn that off here, because Novlr has much the same tool already built in.
There’s even a text style editor to change things like bold, italics, bullet points, paragraph indent, etc…
If you get stuck at any point, Novrl also has a great learn and support section to answer all your questions. Need help with something not listed, or still confused after viewing the FAQ’s? They’re really fast about getting back to customers if you need to talk to a human. Simply contact them with anything you need.
