Websites for Writers – Freelance Writing:

www.freelancewriting.com: One of the top resources for any freelance writer. You can find jobs and helpful articles to boost your freelance game.

Fiverr.com: This is a collection of all things freelance. Create an account and customize it to display your freelance writing services. You can also find other freelance writers if you’re looking for help with guest blog posts, editing, etc…

Freelancer.com: Similar to fiverr.com, this is a job search site. You can create an account by clicking “I want to work,” or search for assistance by clicking “I want to hire.” For more info, check out their “How It Works” page.

writeraccess.com: Another website offering connection services for freelance writers. Post your application for gigs, or find writers to help with your projects.

elnacain.com: I found this woman’s site by accident. But I’m so glad I did. She offers a free 6-day e-mail course on how to get paid to write. Usually, I sign up for the free stuff, then unsubscribe. But I love being on her e-mail list. Each one is packed with great information!

This post – from writersedit.com: A “5-day Freelance Writing Crash Course,” with no sign-up needed. It’s simply a post with all the basic steps to take before you get started as a freelance writer.

thewritelife.com: This website is good for every kind of writing. So, you will find it under all of my resource sections. Many of the posts from this site are listed under the “additional resources” sections. The featured link will take you to their post on How to Become a Freelance Writer, with 8 steps for creating your new career.

smartblogger.com: Despite the persistent pop-ups begging you to “sign up,” this site has some great information for freelancers of any skill level. They cover topics ranging from the basics of finding paid work and improving your skill sets to nailing your first gig.

themuse.com: What a find! I stumbled across this site by accident. It’s brilliant. It has everything a freelancer needs from jobs to coaching.

But their Tumblr is still active and contains some pretty good information.)

Websites for Writers – Blogging:

goinswriter.com : Jeff Goins is the author of “You Are a Writer (So Start Acting Like One)” and other books. If you are a writer suffering from imposter syndrome, this is a great place to start. He offers great tips. He talks about things like practicing the craft and starting your own blog. Goins offers a free guide on growing your blogging audience.

The 30 Day Blog Challenge: I completed this course but this is not an affiliate link or endorsement. The challenge was informative and helpful. Note that you don’t *have* to sign up for any of these to get the free course (even though they say you do).

Recommended for those just starting out, or for people who want to learn more about blogging, website creation, and creating an online store.

Recommended for bloggers of all skill levels, but maybe save this one for after your basics are complete.
